Top of the Mountain

The trail to bommer Mt. turns to rock and later on snow.

Finaliy we make it to the first parts of the wreckage some were around 11320 feet above sea level.
Some more parts found at 11,900 Feet.

Bommer cont.

The first day the trip is around a 7 hour hike, this includes stoping to fish and rest.

First night camp site at Misty Moon. This has been the best base camp for us when climbing Bomber Mt. because its the most level and grassy of the lakes. Any thing closer to Bomber is too rocky or has no cover from the elements.

The next morning early start hiking past fortress lakes.

Bommer Mt.

Sons Richard & Ryan along with friends prepair to head out on their annual hike to bommer.

I mentioned the big springs in my profile. Its the worlds largest because it flows 3.6 million gallons a day of 135 degree mineral water. It supplys two swiming pools for year round use. There is also a state bath house were You can soak for free.

Just a ways north there are two artesian wells drilled by man that flow the same water. Several homes in the area use it to heat and it's avalable for lawns and gardens and pools for grand kids.
